Taking a fashionable step forward..

So fashion and style are not just hobbies of mine, they will one day soon be my every day life. And that thought not only makes my heart skip a beat, but makes my closet excited too. Because what woman doesn't like to shop and add clothes to her collection? She's lying to herself if she says otherwise. Women love clothing, and women love shopping. I am a woman, therefore, this is accepted.

And I won't listen to anything otherwise.

I have currently been employed at a Bakery for about a year now.. and I am just feeling overwhelmed and ready to move forward. Take a positive step forward for my future. So on a whim I applied to about six women's designer fashion boutique's in my current city. I woke up, dressed up, and put my face on. Hand delivered all six applications, and went home and prayed for good news.

Within the next week, I was beyond shocked when I got calls from 4 out of 6 of the boutiques. I would have been shocked with just one. Turns out four of them saw something special in me. Which I will forever thank God for, because it just reassured me that I am traveling down the right path, and that this IS for me.

After many interviews, and phone calls later. I WAS HIRED! By the absolute best boutique I could imagine. It's everything I wanted and more. The girls are nice, and the clothes are trendy. I am still on cloud nine.

So to treat myself I went shopping. Because now I am going to need new clothes to wear to work right? (at least that is what I'm telling myself). So I went to a near by mall, and went to Belk. They were having a HUGE sale.

These taupe booties are by Lucky Brand. They were originally over $100 and I got them for $21 after tax!! These are perfect for transitioning into the Fall season.

These tan sandals are by Vince Camuto, and they were originally $98 I believe, and I got them for $19 after tax! These are just a tad small on me, but I could NOT pass these up! They are so comfortable and can be easily paired with just about anything.

I can not wait to style these shoes while I start my new job! God has truly blessed me beyond measure, and I am forever thankful for everything that seems to be falling into place!

My first blog!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hey y'all,

So I am obviously new to all of this.. and I am not exactly sure where to start. But I figured I would start a blog for a number of reasons. A) I was always told to write my feelings and thoughts down on paper, or in this case my blog, to get them off my chest by my Mother. and B) Why not? I have products and things I've bought that I have opinions on, that I want to share with the world. And if even a few people find this helpful or interesting, then that's pretty cool. I'm not really sure where all of this will go or how it will come out, and I'm sure it won't make sense to some people, but maybe I'm wrong.

So! with that being said.... Here we go!

First things first: My name is Caitlin. I am a senior in college at the University of Alabama, and I am 20 years old. I will be turning 21 in thirteen days. Whoo! Honestly though, who is even counting?? Even though I'd like to think I am, I'm not an adventurous, crazy, or spontaneous person. I am more of a hermit. haha what? I LIKE MY ME TIME. So to say that I'm excited to turn 21 is an overstatement. I am more of a 20 year old going on 67.  It's just another birthday to me. BUT it is my "golden year" birthday this year, so I am excited about that.

Now back to my point.. I am currently a Fashion Retail Major with a Minor in General Business. I'm sure to some of you that this is just the hard hitting information you were dying to read. However, to those of you wondering if this means I'm going to design clothing? I'll answer that simply with a NO. I do not have a creative bone in my body. With my major I imagine myself working with a Fashion Magazine or Personal Stylist, helping them to create looks for people to model/wear. I'm kind of obsessed with fashion in one of the sickest ways possible. So I figured, after convincing my Father that this was something I was very passionate and serious about, why not make it my future.

So for todays post I wanted to incorporate my personal style into my introduction post. This was from my Fourth of July celebrations. My ootd was inspired by the hot July weather.
I wore some really comfy and breathable harem pants that I purchased from Forever 21. Super affordable and like I said comfy. Literally felt like I was in pajamas.
And for my top: a striped, soft crop top from again Forever 21. It was only $10.80!

These are my new obsession. Flash Tattoos. (Fashionable temporary tattoos) I can't wait to style the rest of them.
And of course for my shoes: Black Leather Birkenstocks bc they are back in style and I am taking advantage of it!

So yeah! That was what I wore for the 4th of July. Not all day of course.. Because it was literally a million degrees and eventually I changed into more appropriate summer clothes. This was from a few days ago however, so Happy Late Birthday America!

But I just wanted to document a little bit of my style for y'all, and model my new clothes that I bought the other day when I had gone shopping. Because I would normally do this for my mother, and I didn't get the opportunity to.

Here you go mom, Love you!

That's all, talk to y'all soon!
